No, this is not a new discovery, but something I thought I’d share for any who may be interested. Ecuador has NO dark beers. Pilsener is the biggest seller, and while it’s refreshing on a hot day or with a freshly prepared turkey sandwich with some aji, it’s still light; tasting similar to a Budweiser. If it tasted anything like a Sam Adam’s it would be just fine! I for one, prefer a dark beer; something with hops, maybe even a little bitter. IPA’s are delicious. That’s why I must wait a whole year to have my dark beers (when we return to the U.S. on vacation). And when I finally get one…it’s deleeeesh.
